Where to start feeding a child

Not so long ago, complementary foods were recommended with juices or fruit puree. Today this is considered fundamentally an wrong approach, since it is the juices that give a very large load on the still fragile digestive system of the baby. Here are just a few arguments in favor of transferring the tasting of juices to a later date:


* This is an allergenic product.


* The later the baby meets them, the less chance of manifestation of allergic reactions.


* Juice contains natural sugar. It is not advisable to start completing the baby with sweet foods, since in the future he can abandon the "tasteless" vegetables and cereals.


* Juices are a rather heavy product. The constant use of undiluted juice can in the future provoke serious diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.


The best option for the first acquaintance with "adults" products will be vegetable mashed potatoes. For the first sample, cauliflower or zucchini is ideal, later it will be possible to introduce carrots and potatoes. Initially, one-component mashed potatoes are prepared if allergic reactions are not observed, made of two or three types of vegetables.


The size of the first portion is approximately half a teaspoon, and then gradually increases. The main thing here is not to show fanaticism. It does not matter what volume of the portion is recommended by various publications. All children are different, and their appetites are also significantly different. Supervision can cause only aversion to the product.


Even if yesterday the child ate two full spoons, and today it is hardly one and turns away - you should not try to shove a portion into it by force. Perhaps he simply did not have time to get hungry for eating properly.


What you need to remember to the mother starting to introduce feeding the baby:


* Should start with vegetable mashed potatoes and use only one type of vegetables;


* The prepared dish should not be salt - it will not seem fresh at all to the child. By the way, adding sugar is also not worth it;


* Enter a new product, starting with half of the teaspoon. The portion is not brought to any "set" volume. The child must eat exactly as much as he wants.


* It is advisable to give complementary foods in the morning.


* Even if the child turned away from the spoon, after eating you need to offer him a chest or mixture. Most likely, he will be happy to drink milk.


* If the baby has poorly reacted to any product (constipation, stomach disorder, rashes), it should immediately be excluded from the diet. After a month, the product is given again, if the reaction is repeated, that is, an occasion to contact an allergist.
